All around the world, soccer teams, or football in most countries, strive to be the best. To be a great soccer team and be notable worldwide, the team must demonstrate how well they play the magnificent game, have at least one trophy, played in a climate of high technical standards, and to have prevailed on top through an era of competition and rivalry. When compared to these standards, only a handful of soccer teams are known as the best. 

Real Madrid 

The Real Madrid team made a name for themselves in the 1950s when they made history. Led by Alfredo Di Stéfano and Ferenc Puskas, Real Madrid won the European Cup five times in a row from 1956 to 1960. The team winning against Eintracht Frankfurt 7-3 is known as one of the greatest soccer games s of all time. Nowadays, Madrid remains one of the top soccer teams to be reckoned with.

Manchester United

Manchester United has made it into soccer history books once or twice, most notably in 1999. The Manchester United team of 1998–99 had the likes of world-renowned players such as David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, and Roy Keane. With star players such as these, it’s no wonder they won the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League in a single season.

Barcelona

Another team that has gained much more than just notoriety in the world of soccer is the Barcelona team. This incredible team took the world by storm in 2009 when Barcelona won the first-ever treble by a Spanish club. Barcelona beat Manchester United in the final of the Champions League, took down Real Madrid in the La Liga, and also taking home a win in the Copa Del Rey. 

Spain

Known in many circles as the best soccer team of all time, Spain gained its reputation most notably for winning three successive international football tournaments. Spain annihilated the competition in the 2008 and 2012 European Championships as well as the 2010 FIFA World Cup. They even had an unbeatable streak from 2007 and 2009 with a grand total of 35 games won. Spain is one of the best of the best, even when compared to the most iconic soccer teams around the world.

Leeds United
